It was a busy night of European football as a host of teams played their final Champions League group stage fixture.

Chelsea and Manchester United progressed to the knockout stages, in second and first place respectively, while Celtic claimed third to guarantee European football in the New Year in the form of the Europa League. 

But with the January transfer window opening in less than four weeks, a host of Premier League scouts will have been more occupied with casting their eyes over European football’s brightest talents.

Some targets may be more attainable than others, but that won’t stop English clubs opening their wallets in the New Year.
