Manchester City 2-1 Bristol City: Guardiola’s men rated and slated

An assured performance from the sometimes unreliable keeper and Bravo was unlucky not to have saved Reid’s penalty after getting a hand to the low effort.

Sergio Ageuro’s injury-time winner ensured Manchester City would go into the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final against Bristol City with a slender 2-1 lead.

The hosts started brightly but found themselves a goal down when John Stones’ rash tackle on Bobby Reid gave Lee Johnson’s men a penalty. Reid stepped up and scored the spot-kick just before the break.

City could have been forgiven for thinking it wasn’t their night, especially when Aden Flint spectacularly cleared Raheem Sterling’s effort off the line.

However, Kevin De Bruyne’s goal following a slick move levelled the scores on 55 minutes.

Pep Guardiola’s side huffed and puffed and eventually got their winner when substitute Sergio Aguero glanced in Leroy Sane’s pinpoint cross from the right to give the Premier League side the advantage.
