A huge food festival is taking over a Hull shopping centre for Mother’s Day weekend.
Over 15 food stalls and traders will offer up a variety of different cuisines in St Stephen’s Shopping Centre on March 30 and 31.
The ‘Are You Hungry Hull?’ festival will have everything from Mexican street food and sweet treats to vegetarian offerings and oriental foods available to purchase.
To promote the festival, new traders set to appear with stalls in the shopping centre will be announced on the festival’s Facebook page.
Some of the names already announced include The Galloping Gourmet Food Company, which offers Yorkshire pudding wraps, jacket potatoes and full breakfast options sold from three separate horse boxes.
The Little Bubble Box, which sells waffles with a range of sweet and savoury fillings, will also make an appearance as well as Two C Patisserie and Little Samboon Kitchen.
The festival has been organised with the help of marketing and commercialisation specialists Shoppertainment and managing director Clare Andrew says interest in the event has been “huge”.
The festival hopes to introduce shoppers to new foods and flavours and Jim Harris, centre manager for St Stephen’s, says he hopes the two-day food extravaganza will add to customers’ shopping experience.
He said: “We’re really excited about the upcoming food festival, the response we’ve had from both the traders and the public has been incredibly positive.
“We’re always looking at different ways to offer our shoppers a new experience as well as to support independent retailers and the ‘Are You Hungry Hull’ festival provides us with the perfect opportunity to be able to do both.”
The festival is free to attend and runs from 12pm to 8pm on March 30 and from 11am to 5pm on March 31.
