Plans have been submitted for the new chippy alongside the Tribal Bar and Grill, which could be based between Chiquito’s and the Harvester Oyster Catcher pub off Gilbraltar Way at the retail park.
The scheme is set to create 25 full-time and 50 part-time jobs for the area.
A Papas spokesman said: “So many people had said to us that Kingswood needed a Papas Fish and Chips, so we can’t wait to be serving up the UK’s best fish and chips in Kingswood very soon.”
The Tribal Bar and Grill will be the bigger of the two food outlets and there will be parking for more than 50 vehicles.
The full application to Hull City Council has been submitted by CHFP Developments Ltd.
In the design and access statement, the applicant says: “The nearby Kingswood Retail Park and adjoining sites accommodate a number of existing restaurants, pubs and other leisure uses which benefit from their co-location with Cineworld and Hollywood Bowl.
“The proposals will further contribute to the area giving the consumer further choice and create additional employment opportunities.
“The proposals fit well with the surrounding uses and have been designed to comply with local and national planning policies.”
The scheme has been designed such that it will respect the existing style, scale and character of the immediate context but will also give the new development an identity within the area.
Papas opened its first restaurant in Willerby which proved a huge success.
This year the chain has opened another restaurant at Bilton and also its biggest outlet in Cleethorpes.
The fish and chip shop sold more than 10,000 portions in one day in March during a 1p giveaway, after being named Britain’s Best Fish and Chip Shop on BBC’s Britain’s Best Takeaways.
The outlet at Kingswood would be for takeaway only.
The application will be considered by Hull City Council’s planning committee next month.
