A popular street food company from Hull is set to open its second restaurant in the city on Saturday.
KerbEdge, which already has a branch in Princes Avenue, is due to open in St Stephen’s Shopping Centre on Saturday – pending some finishing touches being carried out on Saturday morning.
Managers are planning a soft launch offering a “taster menu” to begin with while staff are trained up.
Within a few weeks, they are planning to offer a bigger menu than at their other Hull restaurant.
The restaurant is located on the upper food deck of the centre in the space vacated by old NYC Bar and Grill and the new outlet will be far more family-orientated than the Princes Avenue restaurant.
Signs have been put up outside the new venue, which sits beside Zizzi on the top floor of St Stephen’s.
The team behind the new venture are planning a full launch within the next fortnight but are testing the water with a low-profile launch. Hull Live will be having a full look inside next week.
Speaking when plans were announced for the new restaurant earlier this year, KerbEdge director Adam Bryson said: “We have been working on this for a while and we are delighted to be opening in St Stephen’s.
“This is a different venue from the one we operate on Princes Avenue and it will be a lot more family-orientated.
“It will have the same KerbEdge feel but it will have slightly different elements.
“Princes Avenue has low lighting with a brick and wood finish but the site at St Stephen’s is more open and airy.
“Much of the menu will be the same but we will have more veggie and vegan options and there will be a milkshake menu for the kids.
“We will still serve alcohol however including our ‘hard’ shakes.”
