The Lincoln County base may be safe though as the event appears to have created as a joke. Fox News reports September 20 at 3am is the time for the “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us”. However, the details tongue-in-cheek event details say: “If we naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Let’s see them aliens.”

The actual main purpose of the base is not publicly known due to the secrecy, but despite claims of alien cover-ups, the official purpose appears to be likely experimenting with new aircraft and secret black projects developing military weapons.

The neighbouring town of Rachel has a permanent population of just 54 but has become somewhat of a tourist attraction due to its close proximity.

The 1996 epic Hollywood blockbuster Independence Day filmed scenes near Rachel.

The unconscious alien in the film was actually transported to Area 51, which hosted alien fighter jets and corpses.

A KFC logo in 2006 since removed, was claimed by the fast food giant to be the first logo visible from space.

The US government has long been unwilling to provide information on Area 51.

In 1994, five civilian contractors sued the US Air Force and Environmental Protection Agency alleging unknown chemicals were burnt at Groom Lake.

Bill Clinton issued a presidential determination making it exempt from environmental disclosure laws which have been reaffirmed annually by Mr Clinton, George W Bush, Barack Obama and Donald Trump.
