Spanish star is looking for more minutes on the pitch and could leave to get it
Chelsea have been handed a boost in their bid to sign Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez.
The Blues have been linked with the player as a replacement for Cesc Fabregas, who seems set to leave in the summer.
Suarez, once on the books at Manchester City, has plenty of suitors thanks to his performances at the Camp Nou over the last two seasons, although he has remained on the fringes.
In his first two campaigns with the senior team he made 44 LaLiga appearances but has only made one this year – an eight minute cameo in the 4-0 victory over Espanyol.
And it appears Chelsea, who seem most keen on his services, could get lucky in their pursuit as the player grows frustrated at his lack of minutes.
He told Spanish media earlier this week: “I work to play and I’m not having minutes, if I do not play… we’ll see.
“I want to play, today [against Cultural Leonesa] I was able to enjoy and I felt good, comfortable, I want to play as much as possible.”
Suarez has one cap for Spain, which he received in 2016 ahead of the European Championships in France.
