The killer has cut up the tiny chicks and then carefully placed the wings next to their bodies to give the appearance of an angel.
Residents in Porthleven, Cornwall, fear it has all the hallmarks of the infamous cat killer who is thought to have killed, dismembered and decapitated nearly 500 cats across England in a four-year killing spree.
Writing on Facebook Shelley Louis said: “I would like to thank the really kind person who killed the baby seagull and pulled the head off and removed both wings so carefully so that there was no blood or feathers or mess and then placed it on my driveway behind my car.
“You are a horrid cruel person who then left the two wings like angel wings next to its body.
“And to leave it so that all the children going to school from St Peter’s way could see it.
“Some very sick people around. But once again thanks for doing it so cleanly and not a single feather or drop of blood.
“I have reported it to the RSPCA and now the police because it was very deliberately left where lots of people walk to school and the shops.”
It was the second one left on the same road in the last week – with the previous one being buried by a shocked neighbour who found it.
Mother Ruth Chadd said her children were left distressed after witnessing the grisly spectacle.
She added: “My kids were so upset on seeing it on leaving for school this morning, absolutely horrific.”
Amie Steel said the seagull chick slaying bore “the mark of a practiced killer”.
“It needs reporting. Photo evidence too.
“Please get in touch with SNARL (South Norwood Animal Rescue and Liberty) – or Surrey police…. they are investigating the UK cat killer it sounds just like one of his kills as he does attack other wildlife.
“It might be something they can use or rule out.”
Natalie Brian said: “That was my first thought. Many psychopaths start off torturing animals.
“Please make sure you report it, and I hope it’s taken seriously.”
Megan Louise added: “It’s barbaric and scary to think such a sick individual lives within our community.”
