The Getafe centre-back is wanted by both Premier League clubs and is valued at around £30million
Everton have reportedly moved ahead of Arsenal in the battle to sign Getafe centre-half Djene Dakonam in the summer.
Both clubs are chasing the Togo international who is valued at around £30million.
The Sun report that the Toffees are more likely to land the 27-year-old during the transfer window.
Unai Emery is keen on Dakonam but his limited transfer budget could cause an issue.
It is thought to only be around £45million and Everton’s intervention means the Gunners may be priced out of the market.
Marco Silva is looking for a possible replacement for Kurt Zouma, who has been on loan from Chelsea.
