What does this mean for Brexit?
Despite renewed government security, Gibraltar’s relationship with the EU during Brexit will remain on the terms of the Spanish government.
Boris Johnson’s Brexit withdrawal agreement has allegedly provided Spain with the power to veto, EU sources told Spanish newspaper, El Pais.
If the agreement passes, decisions regarding Gibraltar’s relationship with the EU would first have to go through the Spanish government.
Before Gibraltar starts making preparations for Brexit, however, it must wait for a deciding vote in the House of Commons.
