Shoppers in Hull cannot get enough of the latest Primark must-have – and it is leading to “fights” between customers.
The new “we were on a break” T-shirt – a reference to hit US sitcom Friends – has seen customers “fighting” over them in the Princes Quay store.
It comes as the show, which first aired in the 1990s, enjoys a new generation of dedicated fans after Netflix started showing it this year.
One Hull dad has described how he a shop assistant told him he was “lucky” to have found one for his daughter in her small size 6 after nearly selling out over the weekend.
He said: “I went into the shop to exchange the top because it was the wrong size and the shop assistant looked at me stunned.
“She said she couldn’t believe I had managed to find one because they are in such high demand.
“She said people had been fighting over them in the shop and everything. I asked her if she meant fights had physically broken out, she said no but said there had been bickering over them.”

The phrase “we were on a break” is synonymous with the ever on-off-on-again relationship between the gang’s main characters Ross Geller and Rachel Green, played by David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston.
Ross uses it as his pitiful defence when he slept with “the girl from the copy place” after Rachel told him she thought they should take a break on their relationship.
The term runs throughout the 10-year series, with it even making an appearance in the final episode for the first time in the UK in 2004.
