The Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha, on Friday announced his adoption of little David Uchechukwu as a member of his family.
The adoption followed Uchechukwu’s amazing and impressive recitation during the 2019 Independence Day celebration held at Iho, headquarters of Ikeduru Local Government Area of the state.
The governor, who hosted Uchechukwu to a breakfast in Owerri, the state capital, also promised to fund his education and training for life.
Ihedioha said, “David’s recitations attracted ovation and applause from Imo people who witnessed his flawless performance at the ceremony.
“I hereby call on parents and teachers to always pay adequate attention to their children and pupils towards ensuring academic and moral excellence. We want to assure Imolites of the readiness of our administration to encourage excellence at all levels.”
