The Argentine superstar was substituted in the 17th minute of the clash against Sevilla after landing awkwardly on his arm
Lionel Messi has reportedly broken his arm after landing awkwardly during the LaLiga game between Barcelona and Sevilla.
The Argentina superstar was substituted in the 17th minute after falling on his right arm during a tangle with midfielder Franco Vazquez.
The Barca ace appeared to feal over Vazquez’s leg before sticking his arm out to catch his fall.
In doing so, Messi’s right elbow seemed to bend in the complete opposite direction in gruesome scenes.
After receiving intense treatment from the concerned medical staff, Messi was eventually replaced by Ousmane Dembele.
The doctors placed a bandage over his arm, but he was unable to continue and disappeared down the tunnel.
The injury could not come at a worse time for the 31-year-old, with a crucial Champions League game against Inter Milan in midweek followed up by the first El Clasico of the season against Real Madrid.
Barcelona were flying before the injury, with Messi assisting Philippe Coutinho before curling in a delightful finish himself.
