Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne is officially the most prolific creator in Premier League history after recording his 50th assist on Sunday.

De Bruyne, 28, set up Sergio Aguero’s opener at the Vitality Stadium as Pep Guardiola’s men took an early lead against Bournemouth.

It means the Belgian has taken just 123 games to reach the milestone, which is remarkably 18 games fewer than the previous holder Mesut Ozil.

Eric Cantona, Dennis Bergkamp and Cesc Fabregas – Premier League legends in their own right – have also been outshone by De Bruyne, too.

De Bruyne’s City team-mate, David Silva, also took 43 games more to achieve the feat.

FASTEST PLAYERS TO REACH 50 PREMIER LEAGUE ASSISTS

Kevin De Bruyne – 123 games

Mesut Ozil – 141 games

Eric Cantona – 143 games

Dennis Bergkamp – 146 games

Cesc Fabregas – 165 games

David Silva – 166 games

David Beckham – 170 games

Thierry Henry – 174 games

De Bruyne, who has also featured in the top flight for Chelsea, has already produced four assists in the first three games of the 2019/20 season.

The news will be a welcome boost for the talented playmaker who endured a injury-ridden 2018/19, restricting him to just 11 Premier League starts as City regained the title.
