The Brazil winger has already been linked with Man United this summer, amid reports he could leave Chelsea due to a lack of game time. He started only 15 Premier League games last season with Pedro and Eden Hazard the preferred wide players, and could reunite with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford. Chelsea are said to be willing to sell Willian, though they want to bring in a replacement before he leaves. He is the archetypal Mourinho winger, providing an excellent work rate and defensive ethic in the attacking zone. Would the Blues sell to United, though? After the Red Devils pipped them to Romelu Lukaku’s signature, it is doubtful.
The 28-year-old Croatia international is said to be one of Jose Mourinho’s priority targets as the Portuguese looks to rebuild his squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
The Red Devils want to have a deal for Perisic wrapped up before they head to China on their pre-season tour, though disagreements over the two clubs’ valuation of the attacker mean no agreement has been found as of yet.
And now Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has spoken out about United’s interest in Perisic, stating the winger is going nowhere.
“It’s [a transfer] not going to happen,” he said. “He’s training very well with us. We have not considered anything that they have offered.”
So, with Perisic seemingly off the table, who could Mourinho move for?
