At the conclusion of each school year, Columbia Academy Upper School faculty select as Mr. and Miss Columbia Academy two students who best exemplify character and attributes consistent with the Columbia Academy mission.
This year, Mr. CA is Hutton Smith, son of Brett and Deana Smith. He has been a student at CA for four years. Smith has been a member of the tennis and cross country teams and has been active in campus organizations such as the science club, spiritual emphasis council, and the National Honor Society.
He was a national merit scholarship corporation commended student and has been a part of the Best Buddies program. He served as an active student ambassador and a small group leader. Smith will attend Mississippi State University this fall where he will major in mechanical engineering and mathematics.
Miss CA is Molly Murphy, daughter of Joel and Mary Murphy. She has attended CA for 13 years. Murphy has been an active member of the campus as she has been an athlete on the Lady Bulldog tennis and soccer teams. She has served as a small group leader and on the spiritual emphasis council. She has been involved with the science club, National Honor Society and Best Buddies program. She will attend Freed Hardeman University in the fall and is currently undecided on her major.
