Saturday’s naked bike ride was the latest nude cycling extravaganza to hit the UK.

The event was organised by environmental campaigners as part of World Naked Bike Ride.

This comes as naked revellers got on their bikes in Manchester, Bristol, Cambridge and even as far afield as Mexico.

While posh Cambridge cyclists got their kit off too.

Participants went on the long route through the Devon city, including the High Street.

One organiser, Graham May, said their protest is about cycling safety.

He said to Devon Live: “We ride naked to illustrate the vulnerability of cyclists on the road.”

It was the sixth ride to be held in Exeter since 2011.

Though not everyone enjoyed the group getting their kit off.

Kevin Lake, a Devon county councillor for Exminster and Kenn Valley, said children shouldn’t be exposed to the spectacle.

He told Devon Live last week: “I just feel it’s totally unsuitable to be riding on a Saturday through Exeter city centre exposing yourself to people, and to children in particular.

“Most adults can laugh it off or dismiss it, but with children I think it’s inappropriate.”
