The Kingslayer became the Beastslayer in New York for WrestleMania 35
Seth Rollins said he would slay the Beast.
At WrestleMania 35 on April 7, he did just that.
The former Shield man claimed the Universal title after defeating Brock Lesnar in the opening bout of the night, much to the shock of the New York crowd.
Lesnar attacked Rollins before the match and decimated him at ringside, imploring the referee to ring the bell in the process.
The battering continued with Geman Suplexes once the title match finally got underway, but Rollins managed to find an opening when the ref was knocked down and he could land a low blow.
From there, a superkick was followed by three Curb Stomps and the Beast Slayer scored the one, two, three.
This is the second time Rollins has taken a world title from Lensar on the Grandest Stage of Them All after cashing in his Money in the Bank contract and winning the WWE title at WrestleMania 31.
It’s widely expected that Lesnar will now depart WWE and begin training to fight Daniel Cormier in UFC.
