Seven ice cream vans will travel around Hull this weekend in brilliant musical event

A cacophony of music is set to flood Hull’s streets this weekend – all thanks to seven ice cream vans.

From 2pm on Friday, the fleet of trucks will be making their way around Spring Bank, Gipsyville, Humber Street, Pearson Park, North Point shopping centre, Garden Village and more, sounding a nostalgic score everywhere they go.

A spokesman for Absolutely Cultured, who have commissioned the piece, said: “The vans, each with their own individual harmony, weave in and out of each other to create a mesmerising symphony of different clustered sounds and a shared soundscape for unsuspecting audiences.”

The score has been created by Dan Jones, a multi-award-winning winning composer and sound designer working in film, television and theatre.
