Young striker Joao Maleck has ‘been charged with homicide’ after allegedly killing two people in car crash.
The 20-year-old had spent the last sixth months on loan at Sevilla Atletico, Sevilla’s reserve side, from Mexican club Santos Laguna.
Maleck is accused of causing the crash in Jalisco, Mexico, that killed a newly married couple.
He suffered injuries in the crash but they are not thought to be life threatening. He was also detained following the incident.
Mucho Deporte report the striker was found to have alcohol in his system following the incident and is facing murder charges.
Videos of the incident have also been circulating on social media showing the crash and aftermath.
Maleck joined Sevilla Atletico from Santos Laguna in January with an option to buy.
He previously had a loan spell at Porto B in 2017 before returning to the Mexican club.
