These cheesecakes made by Hull baking sister duo are incredible.

Rachel and Maria, of Cottingham Road, set up Mia’s Cheesecakes on Instagram to share their love of baking.

The pair frequently post their latest baking masterpieces – and some are jaw-dropping.

Rachel, a masters student in marketing, was influenced to set up the page when she was persuaded to by friends. She now has hundreds of followers who are impressed with their creations.

She said: “I made a cake for my friends mum’s birthday and it sort of went from there.

“I tried to replicate a Pleesecakes cheesecake, it was a drizzle one and it went surprisingly well. People said to me that I should do an Instagram account so I did.

“I set one up and luckily I did marketing and it was quite easy to start and do a business page and create a banner and logo.”

Rachel launched the Mia’s Cheesecakes account back in November. After a few disasters, the pair continued to experiment and have certainly found a knack for making unbelievable cheesecakes.

Rachel said: “I am inspired by Pleesecakes and the Liverpool Cheesecake Company who do amazing ones as well.

“I had to practice because I had a few disasters doing it for friends and family because I was still learning. It took a lot of experimenting with recipes to get there.

“I thought I would just do it at Christmas time to make extra money and it went mad and grew. Then there was Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day and it goes crazy after those.”

Rachel says that the best cakes are made when she is working together with her sister, who she describes as an “amazing baker”.

“She works full-time from nine to five and the best cheesecakes are always when we are together doing them,” she said.

“We bounce off each other and it is easy to make with two of you because we can read each other’s minds and it flows more.”

Once she has achieved a PHD and become the family’s first doctor, Rachel plans to keep the business going and expanding it further.

She said: “I would like it to grow enough for it to be a big substantial business where it could be something that would support me as much as a regular job, and maybe do a Deliveroo with takeaway ones.

“I would like to get involved with more weddings and I would like to do dessert tables.”
