Hull is well known for its food delicacies ranging from pattie and chips to the famous Hull Pie but a new speciality is taking the city and the country by storm.

Cone Queen was one of the up-and-coming Hull businesses that snapped up a unit in Trinity Market after its multi-million pound refurb and has now been rated among the very best street food sellers the UK has to offer.

The business, which is named after its star product, has its own stall in the market and continues to be popular with tourists, workers on their lunch break and diners treating themselves on the city’s Street Food nights.

But it has begun to attract attention from around the country and has been ranked among the top 26 sellers nationwide by popular food blog The Antler.

The foodie blog is an offshoot of the hugely successful stag do planning website Stagweb.

Cone Queen, which is owned by Hull’s own Anna Beaumont, has been praised for its simple yet brilliant twist on the pizza, making it easier to hold and eat, while retaining everything we love about one of Britain’s favourite food imports.

Flavours range from specials including spicy mac and cheese to chicken and chorizo, while homemade brownies are also among their other specialities.

Explaining why Cone Queen has made it onto their shortlist of the very best the UK has to offer, it says: “We can’t say enough good things about the Cone Queen.

“If you’re new in, then let us break it down.

“The Cone Queen takes regular pizzas and turns them into ice cream shaped cones of pure deliciousness that are not only easier to carry than a regular slice but also look and taste more delicious!”

The latest Hull delicacy is available from Anna’s Trinity Market stall.
